Břetislav Dančák

Břetislav kick-started the research into and teaching of energy issues at FSS. He was previously the director of the International Institute of Political Science and dean of the faculty. His research focuses especially on energy geopolitics and American foreign policy.

Hedvika Koďousková

Having studied in the UK and China, Hedvika's research interests lie in Asia. She also focuses on social aspects of the energy system and is responsible for developing the topic of energy poverty within the program.

Tomáš Vlček

In addition to the EPS program, where he founded the energy security summer school, you may also encounter Tomáš at the EERA Energy Strategy Expert Group and Czech Nuclear Education Network. His research focuses on the geopolitics of energy commodities, the nuclear energy industry, and energy policy of post-communist Europe.

BACHELOR AND MASTER THESIS SUPERVISING

Following topics, both for Czech and Foreign students, are suitable as general topics for further elaboration and specification:

1) Nuclear energy and nuclear fuel supply, political and technological dependencies, plans, contracts and future development
2) Nuclear energy in Europe and the world, future of nuclear energy, financing of nuclear energy
3) Crude oil supply and refining aspects in Central and Eastern Europe
4) Energy policy and energy security development analyses in Central and Eastern Europe in the areas of electricity, nuclear energy, RES, coal and crude oil
5) Energy Security in Central and Eastern Europe
6) Czech foreign policy

Standard procedure:
The above proposed general topics should be specified into a clear narrow project outline. The project outline includes clear project title, research purpose and objective, basic ideas of research design (theories, methodology, operationalization, data collection methods), main arguments and expected research outcomes, all this in 1-2 pages long word document. This material should be send along with request for supervising at least 2-3 weeks before the official deadline. Violation of this procedure will lead to rejects of supervising requests.

Petr Ocelík

Petr is in charge of theory and methodology courses focused on interpretation and analytical tools for energy research. He is an expert in social network analysis of energy and climate policy and is one of the leaders of the European Consortium for Political Research's group for political networks research.

Jan Osička

Jan is the student advisor for the EPS program. He is also one of the leaders of the European Consortium for Political Research's group for energy policy research. Jan's research interests include trade in energy commodities, cross-border impacts of energy policy reforms, and energy transitions.
